2009 is a year of changes for Alexandrion Grup. The company will expand its production area, the new space will be four times larger then the present one. Therefore, one of the most modern and efficient alcohol production plants in the South Eastern Europe will be build through an investment estimated at 12 million Euros.

The unit already has special temperate warehouses, a cellar with an ageing capacity of 3000 oak casks and vertical oak wood tanks. For 2009 we estimate an increase of 100% in the production capacity compared to the previous years. The number of beverage warehouses will double. Thus, the flexibility of the logistic operation capacity will increase.

Wine distillation is prepared in discontinuous high purity electrolytic copper alembics. It is realized in the cold seasons of the year in order to preserve the quality of the distillated wine that was obtained in the process.

Quality Systems, R&D activity and Chemistry lab

Alexandrion Grup Romania shows a constant interest in Development and Research activities that are meant to improve the quality and design of its products.

We constantly analyze the possibility of implementing new technologies in the beverages production process. Also we permanently execute pilot tests of different processes in our laboratories in order to find new packaging and production solutions. It is through these activities that we obtained exceptional products, which are acknowledged today on the local and international markets.

In respect to our commitment to quality in all that we do, our quality assurance systems are used to identify, evaluate and control all the aspects linked with the production process and with the services that we provide.

Alexandrion Grup Romania is certified according to: Quality management systems - ISO 9001:2000, HACCP Codex Alimentarius principles and to, Food safety management systems - ISO 22000:2005;

The laboratory of the plant is going to be certified on the main methods of the company’s product testing and the usage of raw materials in the production process, according to the General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories - ISO 17025:2005.

Distillation

The distillation is executed by extracting the volatile substances from the wine which are enriching the ethylic alcohol from the raw wine distillate. In order for the distillate to reach the best quality, the distillation campaign starts at the end of October and it last until the end of March, during the cold months of the year. All along these months the wine can be kept unconditionally without any adding who may damage the distillation.

The wine distillation as a staple is realized in a discontinuous distillation installation of alembic type. The installation is realized from high purity electrolytic copper, with an onion head bucket, the procedure giving the name of the drink: “vin-ars” (burned wine).

Mixing

Mixing ingredients is completed on high-end automatic dosing & mixing technological lines with a strict control of the quality parameters.

Raw materials

The types of grapes used for distillation are tardy types with a fine bouquet, white, with acidity and low sugar content, coming from calcareous arias in the cool years.

The wines from Romania from which we obtain a fine and aromatic distillate are coming from types of vine created in Romania, like Zghihara Husi, Iordana Transilvania, Cramposia Dragasani, Sarba, Plavia, or international types such as Aligote, Italian Riesling, and Sauvignon.

Alexandrion’s specialists are observing the vine grape since its first processing until the vintage. The treatments for the must and for the fermentation are monitored with a mobile laboratory; the wine technology is established and carefully controlled by the producer. The typical aroma of the sort is coming from the existing elements from the grapes and from the elements that are resulting from the fermentation of the must. Those discreet aromas are reaching the maximum intensity and a great refinement in relatively cool regions, near the limit of the grape culture.

Ageing

The ageing of the wine distillate, raw material used in the production of Alexandrion spirits, is done in our underground cellar in oak casks with a capacity of 400 liters at constant temperature and humidity conditions. The carefully chosen distillates extract from the wood, through maturation and oxidation in contact with the air at the surface of the stave, the tannins, essences and aromas that are specific to cask ageing.

Bottling

In the process of packaging, we use modern materials, guala type closures and pilfer proof aluminum caps, embossed and folio labels, UV lacquer, individual special packs or cylinder boxes with metallic lid.

The exceptional appearance of these packages reflects the distinguished quality of the product inside the bottle and the attention shown in conserving tradition.

Distribution

Alexandrion Grup is present nationwide in the retail segment and also in KA and HoReCa.
